Glass blowing and making has been part of my life since 1989 when I first got the opportunity to blow at North Staffordshire Polytechnic (later to become Staffordshire University) in Stoke-On-Trent. I went on to complete a Design degree with Glass as a specialism taking a year out to work with Ed & Margy Burke in Sarn. I continued my apprenticeship with them after finishing in Stoke and later went on to work for Simon Moore at his studio in Clapham before setting off on my own creative journey as a glass blower and designer.

In this section you will find commissions and pieces I have made over the years.

A commission for a red glass heart that could be framed by the client as a valentines gift. The photographs below are the only ones I have of the heart as it was displayed and on its own in the workshop at World Of Glass. At some point I will photograph and upload the “version” I did with photographs inside on a silk tape!

Voluntary Community Action Trafford were hosting a VCNF awards ceremony and needed an award, a logo and celebration magazine to promote the event. After much discussion we settled on the “V” for volunteer as a main motif using it for the awards and the design of the magazine. The 17 awards I cast at World Of Glass in St. Helens using a steel mould fabricated at Chum Engineering in Trafford Park

There are a couple of short videos online to view of the casting process. One in sand and one directly into the mould. Click here for sand and here for steel.
